Biography
Ely Solan is an exceptionally talented young actor who has received widespread critical acclaim for his emotionally raw performance in the Oscar nominated short film Detainment (2018). He has won several awards for his performance at international film festivals including a Young Artist Academy Award in Hollywood.
He plays "Young Charles" in the feature film 'THE MAN WHO INVENTED CHRISTMAS' based on the life of Charles Dickens, starring Dan Stevens, Christopher Plummer and Jonathan Pryce. He plays "Young Dave Allen" in the BBC television movie 'DAVE ALLEN AT PEACE', the lead role of "Jon Venables" in the Oscar nominated short film 'DETAINMENT', a central character "Bertie Makepeace" in the TV movie "INSPECTOR JURY 4", he plays "Rory" in the tv series 'DROP DEAD WEIRD' and he plays "Robert" in the upcoming feature film 'FOUR KIDS AND IT' starring Michael Caine, Daniel Bruhl and Russel Brand.
Ely plays the voice of "Jimmy" in the animated RTE series 'PEAK ZOO'. He has also played lead roles in stage productions which were performed at the Town Hall Theatre in Galway including the lead role of "ALADDIN", an award winning school play which won a county schools competition with 12 other schools and went on to be performed at the Galway Town Hall Theatre in front of 400 people.
Ely is also a chorister and he plays the violin (Grade 5, Trinity College London), the Piano (Grade 2, Trinity College London) and he is studying guitar. He is a member of several orchestras.
Ely also loves writing stories in his spare time. He has excellent manners and always tries to be nice to people.
