Summary:
Hi there. We are continuing the casting for Shaun O'Connor's feature film 'DIATRIBE', but we are now also considering younger actors who will be aged 16+ at the time of filming (Summer 2026). We are so grateful to everyone who has also already submitted a self-tape. We are just doing one last sweep so for any younger actors who haven't already submitted, we would love to hear from you!
'Diatribe' is an independent feature film shooting in summer 2026 in Kerry. It’s a tense and contemporary thriller about a teenage boy who falls under the spell of a charismatic online influencer, putting his family into crisis. This is a powerful, character-driven and topical film influenced by Adolescence and in the spirit of modern Irish films like The Quiet Girl and What Richard Did.
We are seeking strong, natural actors to bring depth and authenticity to this timely story.

Age: Actor must be 16+ by the shoot dates and believably able to play 16–17.
Character: Teenager. Shy, awkward, creative. Obsessed with gaming, comics, and TikTok. He projects bravado online but struggles with insecurity & isolation. Over the story he is drawn into a dangerous mentor relationship, moving between vulnerability, anger, and defiance.
Requirements:
• Must be 16+ for licensing / legal reasons
• Must be able to play 16 convincingly
• Comfortable with emotionally intense scenes
• Strong on-camera presence, naturalistic performance
• Available for location shoot in Kerry in Summer 2026 (exact dates TBC)
